Farhan Farouk is a Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA). Farhan served a Big 4 Firm in the KSA from 1989 to 2025 and has 35+ years of Zakat and Tax experience in the KSA. From a tax perspective, he dealt with international tax and compliance matters. He Specializes in tax matters relating to contract structuring, transfer pricing, Zakat and withholding taxes.
Farhan lead several large tax advisory engagements in various sectors and industries involved in multi-billion dollar BOOT, BOT, EPC contracts and similar projects, including the application of the ever-changing Zakat and Tax regulations. He Jointly led the tax advisory to the world’s largest oil company in two landmark transactions of US$ 12.4 billion and US$ 15.5 billion in 2021 in one of the world’s largest energy infrastructure deals. He assisted multinationals and large corporations in drafting advance rulings on contentious issues to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). He also assisted clients in restructuring post-acquisition/merger and provided tax optimization opportunities. Farhan served clients operating in a cross-section of industries and sectors, including Energy, Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction, Trading, etc.
Farhan has lead presentations for a Big 4 firm at tax conferences on Saudi Arabian zakat and tax.
